Gabriella Cristiano, Staff Writer

Holy Child’s Varsity Basketball team is having an unbelievable season thus far. With nine wins out of twelve NYSAIS/FAA games, the team is progressing rapidly. The team is made up of three freshmen, three sophomores, two juniors, and four seniors. Kayla Hanley, a sophomore, explained her view on the season:  “The season is going great. Our team is full of energy, so it makes our games even more enjoyable. We are confident in terms of playoffs, but we know that we have to continue working hard each and every day.”

On January 26, 2018 the team faced Hamden Hall on Gryphon Court for an incredible game. It was a close matchup, but Holy Child was able to come out with the win. The ending score was 58-49, Holy Child. On January 31, 2018, the Gryphons played Greens Farms Academy and won. Also, on February 6, 2018 the Gryphons beat the Convent Sacred Heart Greenwich. Both of these games will be played on Gryphon Court, so come and support your Holy Child Varsity Basketball team on their journey to the playoffs!
